Questions

What if I do not know my birth time?

Use noon. The moon moves about half a degree an hour, so a whole day of uncertainty covers roughly half a sign — the calculator flags it when you land close enough to a boundary for that to matter.

Why is my moon sign different from my star sign?

Your star sign is the sun's position; the moon is a separate body moving twelve times faster. They coincide only if you were born near a new moon.

Is this the same as my rising sign?

No. The rising sign depends on the exact time and place of birth and changes every two hours. This calculator does not compute it.
